River Loja 18km

The Loja is not without reason called the Cliff Stream. Despite the views enjoyed here, the banks of the Loja are not as popular and favoured by tourists as those of the Brasla or the Amata. Paths stretch along the right bank of the Loja below the Inčukalns–Valka (A3) road, where no large differences in relief have to be overcome. In warm weather, some sections of the river can also be waded (sandy bed, in places stony), as the Loja is a very shallow stream. This is a suitable place for Nordic walkers and nature watchers, as interesting plants, birds, insects and fungi can be seen here.
