It leads through the highest hills of the Alūksne Upland – Dēliņkalns, Sauleskalns and Opekalns – allowing cyclists to enjoy both steep climbs and pleasant descents. The most impressive of these will be the descent from Sauleskalns. During the ride you can see fragrant flower meadows, hilly landscapes and pastures full of cattle, visit the church situated highest above sea level in Latvia and learn about the impressive Jaunlaicene Manor complex. An observant cyclist will also notice roadside posts preserved from the 1930s.
